I was delayed in the airport for 4 and a half hours a few weeks ago. Weirdly I didn’t freak out, nope I enjoyed myself, got a nice adult beverage, people watched and spent an absurd amount of time on social media.
Finally, it was time to board the plane, and everyone was in a hurry and a panic. It was confusing; one lady was yelling at the employees trying to get a free voucher, the woman behind me was praying out loud, hoping she would make it on standby. All this is pretty normal behavior when dealing with a delayed plane.
Well, one guy pissed me off to the point where I ALMOST said something. He and his wife were situated next to me, they were waiting to get on the same plane I was, but the guy looked a little passed stress, he looked downright frustrated. Once everyone started packing up their things he told his wife, to sit and wait for him. He came back started yelling and called this beautiful young woman stupid.
“You must be stupid!!!!” He blared at her.
Of course, I was outraged and it took everything in my power not to say something to this man. The saddest part about the entire situation is the fact that the lady looked defeated and sad. We caught eyes, I nodded my head and rolled my eyes, she tried to do the same but her husband shot her a deadly look once he saw me.
I’ve dealt with men that put me down before. That’s right I haven’t always been the BELLE of the Ball lol. But it was one of the hardest things of my life to not say anything to this sorry excuse for a man.
So what’s the point of this post? IDK I just wanted to share my experience with all of you because it’s still bothering me. Where ever that lady is right now I just want her to know she’s not alone and she doesn’t have to accept being belittled or put down.
