Valentine’s day is quickly approaching, which means, you need some fun Valentine’s Date ideas. I’m all for date night. Date night with your girlfriends, date night with your significant other or date night by yourself. All relationships need nurturing. It doesn’t have to be a romantic relationship. I love taking my friends out, planning something special and letting them know how much they mean to me.
Instead of making reservations at a stuffy, overpriced restaurant on February 14, get inspired by some of my more creative Valentine’s Date Ideas.
I’m sure you guys noticed I’m an active girl. I love working up a sweat and challenging myself physically. There’s nothing like pushing yourself while trying new things. I’m dying to try indoor rock climbing. I think that would be a great Valentine’s Day date. You need two people to do it; one person spots you as you climb. It’s fun, challenging and you get to check out each other butt the entire time! A nice hike is pretty romantic. Holding hands, exploring and working up a sweat always brings you closer. Ice skating can be enchanting; it’s also a little dangerous so proceed with caution.
Take a Cooking Class
My Friend Nicole invited me to a Spanish Tapas cooking class last summer at Sur La Table, and it ROCKED. We met a lot of different people, learned some cooking tricks and got to eat our masterpiece. Cooking with friends or lovers is romantic, lively, and educational, defiantly something you don’t get to do every day. Other people might have the same idea so start looking at cooking classes now.
Some of us have kids and other responsibilities at night. Just because it’s Valentine’s day doesn’t mean free time starts to flow freely. That’s where the afternoon date comes into play. I love love love getting out when no one else is out. Doing things when no one else is doing them. Try to take a half day at work or sneak away during the afternoon for a few hours on the weekend. You can go to a high tea, have a long lunch or take a pottery painting class together. It doesn’t have to be dark to celebrate this special occasion.
Museums at Night
More and More I’ve noticed museums opening their doors at night and doing something a little special. Some offer bars and live music, some offer food trucks and art classes. I have yet to attend a night museum event but I think this would be an amusing way to celebrate Valentine’s day. Exploring a museum together and checking out exhibits sounds like the perfect date night to me.
Rent a cool car with Turo
I saved the best for last! This gem can be added to any of the above Valentine’s date ideas. I have a car but not a nice car. It’s not the worst, but I would love to class it up a bit on Valentine’s day. I recently had to rent a car, and it was hell. From not having the car I requested, to issues with their payment system, to policies that just didn’t make sense; what should have taken 10 minutes took over an hour. Turo is a peer to peer, app-based, car rental company that takes the middle man and all that extra crap out of car rentals, click here to check out their Car Rentals Page. This page gives you all the ins and outs of Turo. They even have a selection of both classic cars and rare cars, like Tesla’s, that can make for an exciting and adventurous Valentine’s Date.
