I loss a nice amount of weight 8 years ago, then I studied to become a personal trainer and started designing workouts for me targeting my trouble spots. It was awesome, I always kicked my own butt, there’s nothing like finishing your own workout panting for air and covered in sweat.
If you’ve ever worked out with me then you know I’m one tough cookie. I exercise like I’m still trying to lose the weight. Over the years my time has gotten tighter and tighter and I don’t always have the time to write out full workouts for myself. So what’s my secret weapon?
I grew up watching my mother jump up and down and work up a serious sweat with exercise videos. I always made fun of her, the entire family laugh, but we also joined in a few times and I didn’t hate it. I really loved Tae Bo, do you remember Billy Blanks? He was an awesome motivator.
Exercising by myself or getting to the gym takes too much time out of my day. Instead of jumping up and down trying to work up a sweat I pop in a DVD and just follow directions. I don’t always use tapes, but when I do I feel as if it jump starts my workouts, and also introduces new energy and goals into my space.
Here are my favorite exercise DVDs right now:
Do you ever use workout videos?
What kinds of exercise do you like doing?
What the last exercise video you did?
