I made a difficult decision this week. I decided to start posting only two times a week. I love my blog, I love reading other peoples blogs and sharing my thoughts. I love hearing peoples thoughts on my posts, but my business has truly taken off. I’m keeping Challenge Mondays and Crafty Fridays but at this point, that’s all I can commit to right now.
Last week I participated in San Carlos Art and Wine Faire and it was incredible. I learned a lot from this event.
First and foremost…. My prices were way too low. I had the lowest prices at the Faire, which I took as a compliment, but when customers start telling you, you need to raise your prices then you need to raise your prices.
I also realized I am finally a real artist. I know that sounds silly but maybe this will put things into perspective for you. I went to art school in 2000, had to drop out a half of semester before I was set to graduate because I couldn’t afford to finish. I was so depressed that I stopped producing art. After my last break up I decided now was the best time to fulfill my dream of being a paid artist, then 8 months later all this has happened and I’m overcome with joy.
This show was a lot different from any show I’ve done, I sold a lot of big pieces, I made and sold a piece that was 24×36, that’s the biggest I’ve ever created. I sold 2, one went the first hour I was at the event the other went 30 minutes after the festival was over. Check out these pictures

Place glue on inside flap of pumpkin and carefully wrap it around headband
Trim off any excess hot glue that might have gotten on felt

You can also draw horizontal lines to make it look more like a pumpkin but I didn’t think mine needed those lines
